The section draws for next month's Aberdeen International Football Festival, now in its 24th year, have been made with South Africa's Old Benonians, the current Boys 16 years holders, drawn in Section 2, along with South London Schools, finalists three years ago, Tobermore (Northern Ireland) and Rothes. In Section 1, first time visitors Datus Soccer Academy (Ghana), are paired with Limavady Youths (Northern Ireland), Orkney Youth Development Group and Dyce Boys Club.

Section 1 of the Boys 14 section sees Dundee United, along with Albion Boys Club, Limavady Youth and Old Benonians. Teams in Section 2 are Aberdeen, Faroe Islands, Ross County and Dyce Boys Club.

Chairman of the AIFF Organising Committee Andrew Armstrong conceded that events outwith the organiser?s control had not helped in the planning of this year's festival. "The international situation and difficulties in finance for both visiting teams and local funding have made it particularly challenging. However we have overcome this thanks to the support of local teams and this will give young players in the North east the opportunity to meet teams from a number of other countries.

"Next year will be our 25th Festival and we are confident that it will be a really special international occasion for the city and for everyone involved."

There are still limited places available for any organisation wishing to participate in the Corporate 6 a side event, run in conjunction with the main event. Anyone wishing further details should contact dave@afc.co.uk

The 24th Aberdeen International Football Festival takes place at Seaton Park between Monday 12th and Friday 16th July, with the finals at the Chris Anderson Stadium on Saturday 17th July.
