Cansco Elite Youth Development Sponsors

24 September 2004 15:46

Cansco, a leader in providing specialist services to the Oil & Gas Sector has teamed up with Aberdeen Football Club to be shirt sponsors for our Elite Youth Development Programme for the next two seasons.

The Club sees the development of young talent as key to our survival and ultimately our ability to compete at the highest level in Scottish and European football. Our objective is to produce 50% of our senior squad from our youth ranks and to do this requires considerable financial investment as well as the time and efforts of coaches and scouts and others involved in the Programme behind the scenes.

Executive Football Consultant, Willie Miller was delighted with the deal, which will see all of the Club's Elite Youth Development Teams new Nike kits, from U10 to U17, adorn the Cansco logo. "The Club's commitment to the development of young players has yielded an abundance of talent in recent years and has unearthed the likes of Russell Anderson, Zander Diamond and Kevin McNaughton. The partnership with Cansco allows us to continue to attract the best young talent in Scotland and deliver a top class programme."

U10s team talk
The Cansco Group consists of 3 privately owned companies, each of which specialises in providing a range of services to the Oil and Gas industry worldwide.

Cansco Limited, founded in 1986, provides an independent supply of drilling equipment and other services for rental to Operators and Drilling Contractors.

Cansco Greig Engineering Limited, originally founded in 1922, has become the North Sea's leading service provider of hotshot engineering and fabrication. Typically, but not limited to flow-line pipe work, structures and chemical injection packages for topside and sub-sea works. They can accommodate projects of any size and are currently operating in the emerging oil and gas sectors worldwide.

Cansco Pressure Control Limited, founded in 1998, offers specialised engineering, manufacture, and repair & refurbishment services to the Oil and Gas industry.

The Group continues to expand geographically, technologically and physically and is committed to ensuring quality of service at a realistic price whilst building on it's already well founded reputation for demanding the highest standards of itself.

Cansco MD Alan Simpson is looking forward to the partnership with the club. "The Cansco Group is delighted to be involved with the AFC Elite Youth Development Teams as this is, in our opinion, the way forward, not only for Aberdeen Football Club but also for the national game as a whole."

"The forward thinking of the current board of directors at Aberdeen Football Club mirrors somewhat the forward thinking of the Cansco board of directors and we are more than happy to help and be associated with the development of young, local talent."

The teams will be formally presented with their kits during the half-time interval at Saturdays Bank of Scotland Premier League match versus Hibernian.
