Profile: |
The son of former Aberdeen defender Doug, Andrew is another product of the AFC Youth
Academy. He made his professional debut in May 2004 in a 2-1 defeat to Dundee, making
his second appearance at the end of the following season. By 2004-05 Andrew was captaining teams and in September 2004 lead the reserves to victory in the Aberdeenshire Cup Final against Fraserburgh.
In 2005-06, Considine reached
double figures in terms of appearances and became a first team regular in the 2006-07
season, playing in 36 matches and scoring his first goals for Aberdeen in a 2-0 victory
at St. Mirren in January 2007. Shortly afterwards, Considine signed a two-year contract
extension, agreeing a further four-year deal in August 2008. Has played for the Scotland
U-21 squad and was with the Scotland U-20 squad in Canada in the summer of 2007for the FIFA World Youth Championship tournament.
A powerful defender who reads the game well he has become a real stalwart of the team and virtually a fuxture in Derek McInnes' defences - either as centre back or left back. His continuing regularity of appearnces in the 2018-19 season trigerred a cluse in Andrew's contract that lead to him signing a further extension to 2021, making him potentially one of the longest serving players, after Willie Miller, in the history of the Club.
At the age of 33 Andy finally gained national recognition wneh he was called up to join the Scotland squad in October 2020, being capped for the match against Slovakia on the 11th. on 16th December the same year it was announced that Andy and the Club had agreed a contract extension to 2022.
