Signed a Pre-Contract agreement on 28th May 2014. Ashton quickly settled into the team and showed improvement week on week, making himself a key member of a strong squad. Left Pittodrie at the end of the 2016-2017 season to seek a new club in England - closer to home.
After two seasons with Northampton Town, Ash rejoined the Dons on 4th June 2019, signing on for a further two seasons.
