Northern League
Lochee United 1 - 1 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: St Margaret's Grounds, Dundee
Points divided at Lochee. With a desire to emulate the example of the Orion to take home a brace of points from Lochee, the Aberdeen paid a visit to the "dark suburb" on Saturday. Although they did not do this exactly, they were within an ace of it, the locals only drawing some minutes from the close from a penalty. It is to be regretted that they did not get the full complement, but it is so far satisfactory. They now stand 4th on the table with 4 points for 3 matches.

A draw 2-2 fitly represents the run of play in the encounter between Lochee United and Aberdeen on Saturday. Neither of the teams appeared to be in regulation form, and, as a result, some rather desultory play was witnessed. Lochee play, especially, was marked alternately by fits of splendid play, and then again by periods of exceedingly mediocre play, and this sort of thing also applied to the Aberdeen team.
The right wingers of the respective teams, T. Methven (Lochee) and Fullerton (Aberdeen), were the more prominent players on the field, and during the afternoon each had several brilliant solo runs to his credit, while they also made meritorious efforts to bring about the downfall of the opposing goalkeeper. Shiach, who occupies the position of outside left in the Aberdeen eleven, was also seen to capital advantage, shining especially in individual work. The half-back lines in each team were about a level as regards their football capabilities, while the same thing may also be said of the respective backs. At goal Aberdeen had the pull, Bisset having more difficult work to do than his confrere at the other end, and whatever he got to do the Aberdeen custodian always finished in masterly style. Andrew in goal for Lochee was slightly off colour, and was not so reliable as usual.
