Aberdeen 'A' Out

Hearts Too Good at Tynecastle.

Hearts "A" proved too good for Aberdeen "A" in the Second XI. Cup second round tie at Tynecastle, winning by four goals to one.

After a prominent opening in which Paterson and Robertson had good tries, Aberdeen were forced on the defensive.
A very clever movement instigated by Chalmers resulted in Jack opening the scoring for Hearts.
A few minutes later a repetition of the same movement saw Jack put Hearts two up.
Aberdeen were a trifle to be two goals arrears and rallied in fine style, but found Hearts' defence sound. Before the interval Jack, completed his hat-trick to give the home team a comfortable lead.
Hearts monopolised play in the second half, and except for one raid, in which Warnock tested Crosskey, Aberdeen were kept defending.
Continuous pressure by the Tynecastle side was rewarded when Chalmers got a fourth goal.
Towards the close the young Dons came away, and from a corner Sey of Huntly. who was on trial at centre-forward, reduced the leeway.
