Practice Match at Pittodrie
A practice match was played at Pittodrie on Tuesday before 3000 spectators. The teams were as follows:- Reds: Mutch; Hume, Hay; W. Low, JJ Simpson, G. Robertson; Morgan, Toman, McKinley, Findlay, Lawrie.
Referee - J. Edgar, Aberdeen.

The Reds won the toss, and the Stripes, getting well away, after a rather tame exhibition scored through Wilson. Lawrie had a very good try, but lost his footing when in the act of kicking. The combination of Lennie and O'Hagan was a feature of the game. Play was equally divided, neither side claiming any advantage. Lennie got away on the left, and passed to O'Hagan, who then transferred the ball to Simpson, who being ready, scored with a fast shot.

On resuming, the Reds, without much trouble, got in front of Macfarlane's charge, and Toman, with the ball at his foot, easily beat Rab. A wild scramble near the Stripes goal enabled the Reds to equalise, although they had McIntosh to thank for this. He was on the ground, and in attempting to rise, his foot inadvertently put the ball over the line. Play was over very uninteresting nature until Wilson, from a pass by Lennie, gave the Stripes the lead with a well-taken shot. Until the finish the first team led by a goal. Result - stripes, 3; Reds, 2.

The collection which was taken during the game on behalf of local charitable institutions amounted to about 10.
