Young Dons tame Livi lions
Aberdeen youths kept in touch with the league leaders with a 4-2 win over Livingston at Almondvale Field Turf this afternoon. The Dons had several key players missing as they were without Greg Kelly, who will be on the bench for the first team tomorrow and both Andrew Bagshaw and David Donald are both injured.

The Dons started well and dominated the opening 45 minutes despite playing on astro turf for the second week running. Although the surface is far from ideal the visitor's adapted well and raced into a three goal lead. Maguire set up Paton for the first goal in the 16th minute then added a second himself seven minutes later. Four minutes before the break Kiely added a third to put the Dons on easy street.

Bruce had to be replaced at the interval and Neil Cooper gave a couple of the younger lads a run out after 55 minutes, with a view to bringing them in full time next season. This necessitated a formation change and within five minutes the home side had pulled one back from a hotly disputed penalty. Young Leask was got a hand to the ball, but couldn't prevent Kerr's effort from crossing the line.

Ten minutes later Jacobs added a second and the Dons lead suddenly looked fragile. The Dons restored their two-goal advantage in the 80th minute when Paton and Maguire combined well to set up McInnes for the fourth and decisive strike. Livi never looked like coming back at that point and Neil Cooper was full of praise for his young side after the match.

"It was a great performance as eight of the guys playing today are under the 17, which bodes well for next season."
