Plenty in Reserve for Ebbe
Eoin Jess takes a shot at goalThe Dons made the short journey down the east coast to play the 'Gable Endies' of Montrose in their second outing of the new season. Both sides used several of their promising youngsters as early season injuries were taking its toll. Ebbe Skovdahl gave starting places to Clark, McGuire, Esson, McNaughton and Kevin Rutkiewicz was offered a defensive role alongside Thomas Solberg.

Robbie Winters Holds onto the Ball It was young winger Chris Clark who staked his claim for a regular slot when he opened the scoring with the first attack of the second half. Clark's sweet volley after good set up play from Robbie Winters was the highlight of what was a low key affair. Aberdeen was always in control of proceedings, retaining good possession, and their slick movement off the ball had the home side stretched. Eoin Jess again looked impressive, and he was on hand to take advantage of a mix up between Montrose keeper McGlynn and Black to score the Dons second 10 minutes into the second period.

Kevin puts the block onRobbie Winters again looked the part, and his pace was causing problems for the Montrose defenders. Darren Young came close for the Dons in the last minutes when a neat build up let the youngster through, but his effort went just wide.
