ABERDEEN DRAW AT YORK. Pittodrie Team has Better of Exchanges.
Aberdeen's friendly match with York City, the English League Division 111., Northern Section club, at York, resulted a draw of one goal each. All over, Aberdeen had the better of the exchanges, but the quick-moving home side gave a plucky display. The match attracted 5000 spectators.

Smith was early in action to a shot by Fox and two minutes after the start York City took the lead. McDonald accepted a pass from Back and completely eluded the Aberdeen defence to loft the ball over Smith's head into the net.
Love and Beattie were prominent on the Aberdeen right, and Ridley saved at full length from Donald.
Despite the fact that they were playing against the wind Aberdeen pressed persistently and the home defence was kept on the qui vive. Near the interval the Dons were rewarded when Donald secured the equaliser.

Even Play.

Play was of an even nature on the resumption. Johnson and Archibald were prominent for York, and Donald had several good tries for Aberdeen. Ridley, the home 'keeper, sustained a wrist injury but pluckily carried on and brought off several smart one-handed saves. Aberdeen did most of the attacking but failed to gain the deciding goal.
