Aberdeen 6 - 0 Aberdeen University
Kick Off:  2:00 PM   Brebner, Davidson, Collins, Robertson, Collins, Robertson.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
Aberdeen A engaged the 'Varsity in the semi-final round of the Aberdeenshire cup at Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon. A slight covering of snow lay on the pitch, and the weather was bitterly cold. The following teams lined up before a very small attendance:- Aberdeen A: Mutch; Hanna, Brebner; Davidson, Simpson, Drain; Morgan, Wilson, Collins, Robertson, Toman.
University: Thompson; Pearson, Paterson; A. W. Ross, McLeod, K. Ross; MacEchern, McKenzie, Simpson, Moir, Mitchell.
Referee - Mister P. Gillespie, Aberdeen.

Right from the kick-off Aberdeen took the game in hand, and not many minutes had elapsed ere first Collins and then Morgan missed an open goal. The ground team, in fact, had things all their own way, and only lamentable weakness at goalmouth prevented them from scoring. A corner after corner was forced, but none of them were improved upon. At length, with a fine drive from far out, Brebner opened the scoring. From the restart the students paid a visit too Mutch, and Simpson, but nobody to beat but the goalkeeper, missed his kick altogether. Shortly before the interval Davidson increased Aberdeen's lead to two, Thompson making a great but unsuccessful effort to divert the ball.

On the resumption Aberdeen again assumed the aggressive. In defence, as it forward, there was an absolute lack of cohesion on the part of the 'Varsity players, and Thomson had his hands full in endeavouring to prevent the further downfall of his charge. For a time it was a case of Aberdeen v Thompson, and a period was not very old ere Collins rushed through the third point. Robertson added a fourth, and shortly after Collins increase the score still further. The game was now almost a fiasco, and before the close Robertson again scored.

Aberdeen A Qualify.

Time was, not so very long ago, when the semi-final for the Aberdeenshire Cup was a great event in local circles. Great changes have been brought about recently, and only a mere handful of spectators look on at what used to be considered a bit of a Derby. Pittodrie was covered with snow on Saturday, and some doubt was expressed as to whether the tie would be played or not, hence the thinness of the gate. The lines were swept and marked off so that the referee found everything in order and allowed the tie to go on, while the players found the snow nice and soft when they had perforce to touch it. The students, like good sportsmen, never object to trifles, and took the field prepared to win or lose like the other side. There was little in the game of great moment, the home side putting on great pressure at the start, kept it up so vigorously that the 'Varsity were defending most of the time. Until Brebner showed the forwards how to do it, the front line seemed afraid to touch the ball in front of goal. About a game where one side scores six goals and the other side never gets through there is absolutely little to be said. All the same the 'Varsity could be made a much stronger side than they are, for they have several good players, who, if they took the trouble to bring the others up to the same standard, would make a fine eleven. In this game McEachran, K. Ross of Hockey fame, the centre half and goalkeeper were far ahead of the rest, and if they had others their equal would make things hum. On the home side the halves and backs were in great form, and were responsible for the big score and want of scoring on the other side. Aberdeen A now meet Peterhead in the final tie.
