Aberdeen 'A' Win

First Alliance Points of the Season.

A crowd, estimated at well over 10,000, attended the opening Scottish Alliance game at Pittodrie Park on Saturday, when Aberdeen A defeated Partick Thistle A by three goals to one. The first half was evenly contested, Smith and Moyes, the respective goalkeepers, both doing splendid work. After half an hour's play Merrie scored the only goal of the period, the home centre converting a penalty kick awarded for Sutherland handling.
Just on the interval Merrie was presented with a great chance of increasing the Dons' lead, but Moyes deflected his shot for a corner.
The visitors pressed on the resumption and it was only their due when Hunter equalised after Smith had saved brilliantly from Jenkins.
This roused the homesters, and Moyes saved well from Merrie, David and McKenzie before Jackson scored with a header. Thistle kept pegging away and there was always the chance of their equalising until David put the issue beyond doubt scoring the best goal of the game fifteen minutes from time.
