Last Minute Goal Settles the Issue.

PLAYERS ON TRIAL DO WELL.

A last minute goal enabled Aberdeen A to defeat St Mirren A at Paisley, by the odd goal in five. Aberdeen had two players on trial, and both acquitted themselves well.
Aberdeen made the running at the start, and Birrell saved three times from Newman. Warnock might have opened the Pittodrie account on one occasion when the 'keeper fumbled his shot. The Aberdeen left winger forced a corner soon afterwards, and from the flag kick David opened the scoring.
St Mirren retaliated, and the visitors' goal ran several narrow escapes.
Oliphant put Aberdeen further ahead, but before the interval Thomson reduced the leeway.
Play was of keen and even nature in the second half. Thomson and David had excellent tries for their respective sides. The shooting of both sides was inapt, however, during this period, but when Wilson put the Saints on level terms things livened up.
Just on the final whistle Jamieson notched Aberdeen's winning goal.
