Morton 'A' Win
Aberdeen A met their match at Greenock, where Morton defeated them by four goals to one. Pittodrie held a one-goal lead at the interval, but completely fell away during the second half, when Donald was ordered off.
Aberdeen were prominent at the start, and Burke twice almost found the net. The Pittodrie attack played fine football, and Edwards in the home goal was kept busy.
A splendid effort by Merrie missed by inches, but with 25 minutes gone Burke gave Aberdeen the lead. The Morton goal was bombarded following this, and was lucky not to fall again before the interval.
Morton were a much improved side in the second period, and 11 minutes after the restart Brown equalised. Two minutes later McGuire added a second from a penalty, and a third goal was notched by Love.
To add further to Aberdeen's discomfiture Donald was ordered off.
Morton were much the better side now, and increased their total through Hodge. Aberdeen rallied the close, but it was too late.
