Airdrie 'A' Fail At Pittodrie

Beaten By Four Goals to Two.

Aberdeen "A" won their first home Alliance fixture of the season by defeating Airdrieonians "A" by four goals to two at Pittodrie Park on Saturday.

In the opening stages Aberdeen accounted for the bulk of the pressure, and Armstrong opened the scoring after five minutes' play. Seven minutes later, however, the visitors drew level when Law crashed a great shot past Cummings.
While Aberdeen were slightly the better side until the interval, their forwards were generally pretty well held and no further scoring took place.
In the second half Airdrie showed clever out field touches, and Law, who was always dangerous, put them ahead with a well-timed header following a free kick against Fraser.
This roused the home team to greater effort, but twenty-five minutes of the second half had gone before David levelled the scores with a somewhat soft goal.
Both teams made strenuous efforts to secure a leading goal, and three minutes from time David accepted a fine pass from Paterson to score a good goal. Immediately afterwards Paterson put the issue beyond doubt by netting a fourth after grand play by Warnock.
