Aberdeen 'A' Well Beaten

Weak Finishing Cost Them Points.

Seven thousand spectators saw Aberdeen reserves suffer their first home defeat of the season on Saturday, when they went under to Motherwell "A" by four goals to nil.

The home eleven practically monopolised play in the first half, but very poor finishing and a Motherwell defence a little above the usual kept them from counting. Only Shnarp, Fraser, and Beattie, the ex-Hall, Russell's junior, played to form.
Motherwell grasped their opportunities in the last twenty minutes when Aberdeen were at sixes and sevens. Right from the kick-off Aberdeen took the game in hand, and Warnock struck the crossbar, while Frame held shots from Black and David.
At this stage Motherwell's few raids were easily repelled, and the Fir Park defence was well and truly tested. Frame held a header from Beattie; Fraser shot inches high, and Devlin hit the upright.
Motherwell were kept entirely on the defensive, and despite their poor marksmanship Aberdeen should have led at the interval.

Second Half.

David and Armstrong changed places in the second half, but before the homesters could settle Douglas gave Motherwell the lead.
The Aberdeen reserves retaliated, and Frame saved from Warnock and Beattie. With fifteen minutes to go, all hopes of a home victory went by the board when Sneddon added Motherwell's second goal.
This unnerved Aberdeen, and Douglas added two more to complete his hat-trick.
