Aberdeen 'A' Win At Pittodrie

Partick Thistle Well Beaten.

BEATTIE GETS TWO GOALS.

Aberdeen "A" improved their prospects of winning the Scottish Alliance by defeating the Partick Thistle Reserves, the League leaders, by three clear goals on Saturday at Pittodrie Park.

Aberdeen soon settled down to a prolonged offensive, and only the keen tackling and sure kicking of Hogg, Fitzsimmons, and McAllister kept them at bay in the first quarter of an hour.
Eventually Beattie fastened on to a fine pass from David, and shot past the helpless Wilson from twenty-five yards range.
This reverse seemed to improve the visitors, but their clever outfield play was spoiled by poor finishing. Pope and Wylie being especial sinners.
In thirty-five minutes Aberdeen increased their lead through Yorston, who scored with a great drive after clever play by Beattie and Adam.
Towards half-time Partick came more into the picture, but Legge and Sharp were sound defenders, and the home citadel was seldom in danger.

Aberdeen Defence Safe.

The Alliance leaders resumed in great fashion, but found the home defence very safe. Aberdeen's first raid bore fruit, Beattie netting after Wilson had partially saved from Adam.
Thistle attacked in turn, and Cummings came Into prominence by masterly clearances from Grove and Wylie.
Wilson, the visiting 'keeper, was also kept busy, Hill and Yorston both bringing out the capabilities of the Inverurie lad.
Towards the end Aberdeen were generally aggressive, but David missed several opportunities, and a good game finished without further scoring.
