Aberdeen A Oust Dundee Reserves at Dens Park Aberdeen
Aberdeen A fully deserved their 2-1 victory over Dundee Reserves in the first round of the Scottish 2nd XI. competition at Dens Park.
Dundee were dangerous at the start, and Munro almost counted. With five minutes gone, Galloway was fouled in the Dundee penalty area, and from the spot-kick, Armstrong gave Aberdeen the lead. The home team retaliated, and Cumming saved from Guthrie, and Munro went near with a good shot. Aberdeen held their own and retained their lead until the interval.

On the resumption, Hill went to centre-forward, and Armstrong displaced Galloway at outside left.
Dundee showed improved form this half, and Dempster and McInearney had good efforts.
Twenty-three minutes after the restart Dempster accepted a pass from Lynch to reduce the leeway.
Shortly afterwards the homesters were awarded a penalty, but Cumming saved from Lynch.
Dundee kept up the pressure, but Aberdeen defended in grand style. Near the end Dempster missed a fine chance of levelling the scores.
