Young Dons' Easy Win

Galloway and McDermid Brilliant.

It was a fast and interesting game in which Third Lanark "A" and Aberdeen "A" participated at Cathkin Park. Right from the start Aberdeen made the running, and for the first few minutes the Third Lanark defence had a very anxious time. It was after ten minutes' play that Aberdeen deservedly took the lead. Donald turned in a cross from Galloway. The goalkeeper, however, managed stop it, though he was unable to make a clearance, and Armstrong rushed in to tap the ball into the net.
Exactly five minutes later McDermid slipped the ball to Armstrong, who ran in and made no mistake.
With a two-goal lead, the Dons now took things much easier, and Thirds went on the offensive for a short spell.

Penalty Saved.

A tussle between the visiting centre-forward and Cumming resulted in a penalty being awarded to Third Lanark. The 'keeper, however, saved brilliantly.
Thirds kept up the pressure, and in the final stages of the first period McMillan reduced the Aberdeen leeway.
Aberdeen continued their superiority in the second half, and Galloway delighted the spectators with some really clever play. Thirds did make some spasmodic dashes to the other end, but they were well held.
McDermid, who played brilliantly all through, scored Aberdeen's third goal. Just on time Harvey scored for the home team.
Aberdeen were more superior in this game than the score would suggest.
