Aberdeen suffered a disappointing 3-1 reversal at the hands of Danish first division outfit Koge in their opening game of the pre-season tour of Denmark. Manager Ebbe Skovdhal said before the match that he wanted to win this one to put one over his former assistant, Henrik Jensen. He was to be disappointed after watching his team play second fiddle for most of the match.
The Danes broke through in the 24th minute. A corner was swung into the box and following a scramble Tommy Olsen fired home from a few yards. Koge continued to control the match, but the Dons had a chance to get on level terms in the 38th minute. Winters cross was met by Zerouali, but his effort was cleared off the line.
The second half was only three minutes old when Tommy Olsen popped up again to make it 2-0. Young Kevin McNaughton was skinned on the flanks and Olsen was on hand to drive home the resultant cross. Fifteen substitutions in total were made making it very difficult for the game to keep shape.
Hicham Zerouali pulled one back late on but, Ebbe Skovdahl's men will have to put on a much improved display against Brondby on Sunday to avoid a heavy defeat. Another worry for the Dons boss was the loss of influential skipper Derek Whyte with a facial injury after just twenty minutes.
