Full name David Bennet Lothian, a co-founder of the Aberdeen Association Football Club, David played as an amateur and professionally was a teacher. Although born in Wishaw, he spent most of his career in Aberdeen and turned out occasionally tor his club, including in their first ever match. In Aberdeen, he taught at Causewayend School before being appointed headmaster at Crathie School, later returning to the city where he was at Porthill and King Street schools before becoming headmaster of Sunnybank School till he retired in 1921.
He died at his home at 15 Kings Gate, Aberdeen on 23rd February 1950.
