During a match against Rangers Reserves in September 1979, Duncan scored a goal in 15 seconds after kick off from a pass by John Hewitt. Although he served at Pittodrie for several years, and featured in the first team, he did not capture a regular slot except for season 1977-78 when Billy McNeil was manager. After Pittodrie Duncan played in North America and Hong Kong before returning to the UK where he reunited with his former boss Billy McNeil at Manchester City before returning to Aberdeen where he had a brief spell with Cove Rangers.
Went into business as a financial advisor in Aberdeen. Chaired the AFC Former Players Association from 2002-2018
