The Dutch international made an immediate impact, scoring twice on his debut against Dunfermline followed by a winner against Rangers in his first Pittodrie appearance. A left-sided forward, Gillhaus provided the vital spark up front as the Dons won both domestic Cups in season 1989.90. Played for Holland at Italia 90 and was Dons top scorer before a protracted transfer ended his Pittodrie career on a sour note.
