Profile: |
John O. G. Reilly was ostensibly a part-time player when he made his debut for the Dons as he was at College in Glasgow. It is thought that this was how he came to make his debut as he was still living in that part of the world and Aberdeen had a huge injury list. It was in fact from John's corner that Arthur Graham scored the equaliser against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park 2nd April 1977. He was replaced in the 67th minute by Ian Fleming (who had been an injury doubt on the day). That was his only first team involvement.
Our recollection of him was he was slightly built but very skillful and had a good turn of pace and was also a good user of the ball. He spent another year in the reserves before being released and the last time he appeared at Pittodrie was for Hamilton Accies on 11th October 1978.
