Profile: |
As a junior John played for Larkhall Thistle before having a prolific goalscoring season with Liverpool. He wanted to return to Scotland and signed for Aberdeen for a transfer fee that was the highest ever paid by the club up to that time. His youger brother Tom was a Scottish internationalist inside-right. He had a superb first season at Pittodrie but unfortunately he broke his leg at the start of the following season and never really recaptured his form after that.
Aberdeen F.C.'s New Centre-Forward
It was intimated at the annual general meeting of the Aberdeen Football Club last night that John Miller, Partick Thistle, a former centre-forward of the Aberdeen Scottish League team, had been signed on again. The news will afford gratification to his many admirers. While playing for Aberdeen during season 1922-23, Miller scored 25 league goals, which is a record for an Aberdeen player for one season.
