At a reported fee of £300,000, Peter was an excellent signing by Ian Porterfield. He was a grafter for the team although not a goalscorer. He played an impressive 54 matches in his season at Pittodrie before leaving for family reasons. Unfotunately one of his most memorable contributions came in a penalty shootout in the 1987 League Cup Final when he missed the kick that brought about the Dons' defeat.
