ABERDEEN'S NEW PLAYER. VALE OF LEVEN CAPTAIN FOR PITTODRIE.
Last night Aberdeen signed a new forward in William Jackson, the captain and inside left of the Vale of Leven Club. Jackson, who is not related to the Jacksons already on the Aberdeen Club list, is 24 years of age, and is a native of Renton. He is 5 ft. 10in. in height and weighs 12 stone. He is a strong, forcing player, and is top goal-scorer for the Alexandria this season. Aberdeen have been endeavouring to secure his services for some time, but Vale have fused to do business. Now, however, they have teen prevailed upon to sanction the player's transfer, and it is understood the Aberdeen Club has to pay a substantial fee. Jackson was for a season with Everton and later served with Wrexham. He has been largely responsible for the success of Vale of Leven this season.
