Profile: |
Full name: William Clark Bain.
Signed at the tail end of the 1938-39 season, Willie was a reserve forward when war broke out. Promoted for the start of the Regional League East season he soon found himself as the first choice inside right. Was a thrustfull inside forward, who had the ability to beat an opponent and go through with the ball. His Aberdeen career was cut short when he was called up and although he returned to the club in 1945 it was to reserve team football and he was released at the end of the season. Once his football career was over he would emigrate to Australia.
The local paper reported that he was engaged in "work of national importance" during the war. He was one of only a few Aberdeen players resident in the City at that time.
