Peterhead 1 - 3 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Thiomson       ?, Shiach, ?
Attendance: 0
Venue: Recreation Park, Peterhead
The first match for the season at Peterhead was played in the Recreation Park between the Peterhead and Aberdeen. The attendance of spectators was not so large as might have been expected at the start of the match, but before the finish the numbers had increased greatly. At the start the play was very equal, and it was fully fifteen minutes before Aberdeen warmed to the work and secured their first goal. A short time afterwards a smart rush be the Peterhead forwards gave Thomson on the left wing his chance, and the game stood equal. Shortly before the whistle blew at half-time Shiach, of Aberdeen, put in a smart shot, which was missed by the Peterhead goalkeeper. In the second half neither team scored for some time, but after a tussle Aberdeen managed to obtain their third and last goal. All through the final stage of the game the Aberdeen team had de¬cidedly the best of the play, and the home team had to act almost entirely on the defensive. At the beginning rather rough play was indulged in, and towards the end of the game two of the Peterhead team lost their temper, and the referee had to interpose to prevent a fight.
