Aberdeenshire FA 1 - 0 Orion
Kick Off:    Burnett
Attendance: 3,000
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
A Rhodesia. Charity Cup-tie match Between the Orion and a team selected from the Victoria United and Aberdeen Football Clubs took place last night at the Victoria Bridge Grounds, Aberdeen. The weather, though dull, was dry, and the ground was in excellent condition. There was a good turnout of spectators. The teams lined up as follows:Orion: Watson; Livingston, Ross; Currie, Graigmyle, Craig; Barron, Grant, McKernan, Kane, Hogg. Selected team: Findlay; Thain, Marshall; Craig, Stronach, Thomson; Livingston, Watson, Burnet, Gray, Shiach. Referee: Mr Peter Simpson, Victoria United.

The Orion won the toss, and the selected team, who wore red jerseys, kicked off. The Reds at once pressed, and Shiach sent in a swift shot, which just missed by inches. By good passing tactics the Reds again got down, but the defence prevailed. The Orion now took up the running, but the ball went behind. Another run down by the Stripes ended in the ball going through, but offside was given by the referee. The Reds forced a corner, but the ball was kicked over. Another corner to the Reds ended in nothing. For a time play ruled around the Reds' goal, and Findlay fisted out in fine style. The Reds now pressed, and forced two corners in rapid succession, both of which, however, proved fruitless. At last they got the ball through, but the goal was given as offside. Half-time arrived without any scoring taking place. On resuming, the Stripes got down, and Craig, with a swift shot, struck the uprights. Orion still kept up the pressure, and had hard lines on several occasions in not scoring. From a run down the right wing Livingston crossed to Burnett, who banged the ball into the net, thus giving the Reds the lead. Nettled at this reverse, the Stripes strove hard to equalise, and Findlay was kept busy for a time. The game now became very fast, both goals being visited in rapid succession. No further scoring took place, and a keenly-contested game ended in favour of the selected team.
