The Aberdeen 4 - 1 Celtic
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
The visit of the famous Glasgow Celtic football team to Aberdeen had been looked forward to with keen interest by lovers of the "socker" game, and when the Scottish Cup holders appeared at Pittodrie Park on Saturday afternoon, they received a very hearty reception from the large turnout of spectators who lined the ropes. Half-time result: Aberdeen 2, Celtic 0, In the second half Aberdeen had most of the play, and the game ended: Aberdeen 4, Celtic 1.

It is so seldom that a Glasgow team of any note visits Aberdeen that we were not surprised at the large crowd that patronised Pittodrie to witness the Scottish cup-holders show their paces against the Aberdeen. On the whole the result was disappointing. No one can believe that the Aberdeen are capable of beating the Celts, and though they won on Saturday by the score of 4-1, it was easily seen that the Celtic did not play up to the form that we all know they are capable of. However, the Aberdeen are entitled to the honour of beating the Celtic, and if there be anything in this distinction we feel sure the Aberdeen will work it for all it is worth. They need something to talk about to keep their minds away from the Charity final. The outstanding feature of the play was the smart work of the Aberdeen forwards who, in their encounters with a rather listless defence, nine times out of ten came out best. The best play for the Aberdeen was shown by Livingston, Shiach, and Fullerton.
