We fancy that the charities are not much the richer by the Vics and Orion engagement of Saturday. The local clubs have met too often this season for playgoers to enthuse over them. Hence the miserable crowd that assembled at Torry. The game was not an uninteresting one. Both teams were at full strength, and both seemed eager to have the credit of victory. The Orion at the beginning did some good work, especially their forward line. The defence of Vics were as determined that the Orion would not score, and to this end they put forth their best efforts. For a time the play was about equal, the Vics, with the wind, having slightly the best of matters, and before half-time led by a goal, prettily secured by Taylor. With the wind, the Orion's turn came, and they were not long in equalizing, J. Grant, who in the first half had been giving the Vics' backs plenty to do, scoring. This single goal seemed to satisfy the Orion, for they were content to allow the Vics to assume the upper hand. Nothing loath, the Vics made repeated onslaughts on the Orion's goal, but Morrison, with his two backs, kept them out, and a well-contested game ended in a draw of one all.
