Dundee A 6 - 2 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Dens Park, Dundee
The Dundee "A" team can look back with pride on their engagements with Aberdeen clubs. They have beaten two and drawn with one. Not at all bad for a reserve eleven. Owing to the weather the ground was in a fearful state, and the football suffered accordingly. In fact it is not going too far when we say that the game was nothing short of a farce. In the first half the game was evenly contested, but what a different tale in the second. Up to the time when they equalised the Aberdeen played all right, and the equaliser was thoroughly deserved, but from that time to the finish the Aberdeen seemed completely demoralised, and incapable of doing anything right. The referee was wrong in his decision by which the Dundee managed to secure the lead, but the Aberdeen's play after this was weak in the extreme, and they allowed the Dundee, without any effort to check them, to score until they had six goals. With this the Dundee were mercifully content, seemingly feeling satisfied that they had shown up Northern League football not to be the power in the north which the clubs composing the League would have outsiders to believe.
