Forfar Athletics, getting a two-goal lead early in their Northern League game at Pittodrie, put up a good fight against the Aberdeen reserves. The latter were without Edgar for most of the afternoon, but even when at full strength they did not impress, particularly in attack. The defense was fairly safe and solid after the tumbled to the wide-passing tactics of the Forfar front line. Petrie and Leighton scored two of their goals for the visitors in the first 20 minutes, and they kept their own charge intact until after the interval, when Main and Hannah found the net within 4 minutes of each other, the back converting a penalty granted for tumbling up McIntosh. Forfar did most of the defending after this, but missed a penalty, and then Neilson twice chord with lovely shots in the last 10 minutes. Aberdeen A thus won by four goals to two. Petrie and Chapman were the pick of the visitors. On the home side the backs and "H. Smith" and Neilson were the best. Main and McIntosh were hard workers, but were well matched.
