Fraserburgh Go Under At Pittodrie
Although defeated by four goals to one in an Aberdeenshire and District League match at Pittodrie Park yesterday, Fraserburgh have every reason to be satisfied with their display against Aberdeen A.
About 200 spectators saw the home team early assert their superiority, and had they exercised more judgment and care when near goal they would have established a substantial lead in the opening stages. As it was, Aberdeen turned round leading by the only goal, obtained by Spalding after 35 minutes' play from a cross by Moir, who was prominent on the right. In the first half Fraserburgh had been kept defending for the most part, but, on resuming, their forward line came more into the picture, and, led by Crawford, who was distributing the play nicely, the forwards repeatedly had Cunningham's charge in danger. Their efforts, however, were not maintained, and after Mutch had shot into Gibb's hands, Sutherland increased the lead. Goals by Forbes and D. Thomson quickly followed, and, in a final rally, Scott scored Fraserburgh's only goal.
