Peterhead Go Under At Pittodrie |
 |
Peterhead were visitors at Pittodrie Park when they opposed Aberdeen "A" in an Aberdeen and District League game, and were defeated by 2 goals to nil. The home team had the bulk of the play - Cunningham in the Aberdeen goal only once being called upon to save a direct shot - and, had the Aberdeen forwards been more accurate in their shooting, the score would have been much greater. The two goals - one in each half - were obtained by Summers, the junior, who figured in the centre-forward position, and played well although policed by Thomson, the dapper centre-half, who was Peterhead's outstanding defender. The ineffectiveness of the visiting team's forwards was due in large measure to the success of the Aberdeen defence, in which Bruce and Edwards were prominent.
