ABERDEEN F.C.'S TOUR GERMANY. A VICTORY AT DRESDEN. |
 |
Continuing their tour in Germany, the Aberdeen football team on Sunday played a selected eleven from two local clubs at Dresden. The result was a victory for Aberdeen by 3 goals 1. Miller gave a fine display at centre-forward for Aberdeen, and scored two brilliant goals in the first five minutes of the game. The other goal was scored by Rankin. In the course of the game, which was vigorously contested, Blackwell saved from a penalty kick awarded the German team.
The refereeing in the match was very unsatisfactory, and but for this Aberdeen must have won by a more decisive margin.
The Pittodrie party are enjoying the tour immensely, and report that everywhere they are being received with the greatest cordiality. They feel that the only cause they have for complaint is the refereeing, which has been very unsatisfactory, and their enjoyment of the matches has been marred by the unnecessary robust tactics employed by the German teams generally. Pirie, the club's new half-back, has been playing brilliantly at centre-half.
