Dons For Final Of 2nd XI Cup
IF to-day's Cup final at Hampden is half as good as was the 2nd XI. Cup semi-final tie between Motherwell and Aberdeen at Fir Park last night it should be a great game.

There were lots of thrills and plenty of good football. It was real cup-tie stuff. The Dons twice held the lead in the first half and Motherwell were ahead twice in the second period.
Aberdeen won on their merits. From goal out they were sound. It was one of their best displays of the season. On this form they have a splendid chance of winning the " Wee Cup."

There was plenty of "bite" in the opening exchanges, and in six minutes the Dons took the lead. A right wing movement ended in a shot by Pattillo being blocked. The ball ran clear to Taylor, who found the net with a hard grounder.
Motherwell drew level in good style after twenty-two minutes' play. Wales swung the ball up the middle, M'Culloch beat Waddell on the jump and netted smartly.
Just on half-time Aberdeen took the lead again. Christie made ground on the right, and when he crossed Ferguson neatly headed into the net. Immediately afterwards Motherwell were awarded a penalty and Wales netted from the spot to level the scores.

Nine minutes after the start of the second half Motherwell took the lead for the first time. It was a well-taken point. Smith scampered off, resisted a challenge by Graham, and found the net with an oblique drive.
With fourteen minutes played the Dons scored a simple equaliser. Williams swung the ball up the middle and Taylor lobbed it over Johnston's head into the net.
Two minutes later McCulloch put the home team ahead again. The ball came out to the centre from a goalmouth senmrnage and his drive found the net. Johnston was unsighted.

In twenty-five minutes the Dons got on level terms. Taylor was held up and sent the ball into the middle. Pattillo missed his kick, but Williams dashed in to score.
Ferguson and Taylor made the opening for Pattillo to score what proved to be the winning goal in thirty minutes. The centre found the net with a magnificent drive.
