Scottish Reserve League
Motherwell 4 - 0 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    McLeod 4, Sommerville 10, Sommerville 44, Sommerville 57
Attendance: 0
Venue: Fir Park, Motherwell
Young Dons Well Beaten At Fir Park
We played Motherwell Reserves at Motherwell in mid-week and had a bad night, losing by four goals to nil. We got off to a bad start when in the first minute John Gardiner lost a soft goal. Soon after we lost another goal due to a misunderstanding between Alec McLeish and Neil Cooper.
We had chances to bring the scores level but bad finishing and carelessness didn't help us. Just before the interval Motherwell scored a third, when they caught our defence pushing forward leaving their centre forward with an easy chance which he accepted without any difficulty.
We played better after the break but it was obvious that it was not going to be our night. The home team scored their fourth when a Purdie free kick beat our defence for Sommerville to score, with a fierce drive from close in.
Only Gibson, McLeish and Watson deserved pass marks from this game.
