On a historical day for Clydebank the Dons became the first side to visit New Kilbowie on Premier League duty. 7000 turned out to witness the event and on the first half performances everything pointed to a successful 'home debut' for the Dunbartonshire club with the Bankies a trifle unfortunate to be only 1-0 ahead at the break.
It was a different story in the second half however, and it seemed if only the Dons could score the flood gates would open. And so it proved, although it took a goal from centre-half Willie Garner 19 minutes from time to do the trick. Within minutes Joe Harper had put the Dons ahead and substitute Duncan Davidson put the issue beyond doubt to make the final score 3-1.
