Chasing Rangers hard for the title, Aberdeen found themselves two goals down after only 10 minutes in their final home match of the season. Joe Harper pulled one back just before the interval and set up a second half bonanza. The Dons simply turned on the style and left Alex Ferguson's young St. Mirren side a well beaten lot by the end; a standing ovation greeted the players as they left the field..
