Aberdeen made only one change to the side which lost 3-1 to Hearts at Tynecastle
in midweek, Joe Miller returning to the starting line-up and David Rowson dropping
to the substitutes bench.
The home side started on the attack and Billy Dodds linked well with Derek
Whyte before Eion Jess rifled in a low shot which went wide.
At the other end, Kilmarnock's Kevin McGowne turned in a good header which
Dons goalkeeper Jim Leighton held easily.
No real clear cut chances followed in the first half and the game turned into
somewhat of a dull affair.
The second half produced more of the same, and with no clear chances, this
game never really took off. In the dying seconds, Ilian Kiriakov was sent off
in what was the only point worth mentioning in this Pittodrie meeting.
