Aberdeen pressed early for an opener with Dodds forcing Goram into a save early
on. With the defending champions all at sea, the home side took the lead on the
half hour mark through Stephen Glass who headed a Ricky Gillies cross into the
top left hand corner from eight yards.Eoin Jess spurned a great opportunity to put the Dons further ahead just before
half-time shooting tamely at Goram after finding space in the box.
In the second half the champions were reduced to ten men when Amoruso was
sent off following an incident in a packed Dons box. The Dons continued to
dominate and it would have been no injustice if they had added to their lead
but in the end one goal was enough to send the Red Army home happy.
