Dundee Utd defeated Aberdeen by 4 goals to nil, with two ex-Dons men grabbing
goals. The first half was a close affair, with neither side really getting in
front. However it was the away side who scored the opening goal when ex-Dons
hitman Billy Dodds scored against Pittodrie debutant Tony Warner.
The second half began with United on the attack, and it didn't take long for
the visitors to score. With 53 minutes gone, Joe Miller scored against his
old club to make it 2-0 to Dundee United. 2 minutes later it was 3-0 to United
when Kjell Olaffson struck. 1 minute later it was 4-0 when Billy Dodds scored
his second, and United's fourth of the game.
Aberdeen's misery was made worse when Nigel Pepper was sent off, 19 seconds
after coming on. It was the players second sending off of the season.
The defeat keeps the Dons in the relegation zone, and means that victories
in the coming weeks are vital.
