    George Sutherland Benefit Match
Kick Off:    Adams, Sutherland 85 (Pen).       Grant, Miller, Miller.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Links Park, Montrose
Aberdeen played Montrose before a large crowd last night on Links Park, Montrose, in a benefit match for George Sutherland, the home, custodian.
Grant had the first try at goal, but the first really dangerous shot came from Hogg. Off a corner kick well placed by Smith the ball was passed to the right, and Grant scored through the ball rebounding off the foot of a Montrose player into the net. Hogg and Duncan gave Blackwell drooping shots, which the custodian easily cleared. Gray had a shot at goal, which Blackwell picked up at the comer of the post, and the goalkeeper kicked out a minute later a shot from Adams. Miller, after outwitting the defence, had a long drive, which beat, Sutherland all the way. From close range first Hogg, then Wilson skied the ball.

Sutherland saved a grand cross from Grant in the first minute of the second half, and Gray, after beating the defence put too much screw on the ball, which went past. Blackwell cleared with some difficulty a shot from Gray, and Adams headed past. Picking up a pass from the left, Adams with a great drive from far out, scored. Blackwell having no chance. A fine cross from Smith was smartly converted by Miller. A penalty was given against Hutton for handling when hard pressed by Hogg, and Sutherland, who took the kick, scored.
