A football match in aid of the funds of Montrose F.C. was played at Links Park last night between elevens from Dundee and Aberdeen. The drawings amounted to 60.
Aberdeen were first to make headway, and after Smith had shot narrowly over the Dundee citadel ran a couple of narrow escapes, Marsh saving in good style. The attack was mostly concentrated on Marsh, though on one occasion the Aberdeen goal all but fell, Hunter shooting over. A pretty movement, and Aberdeen were again on the move, Smith beating March with a fine shot. Aberdeen had been the cleverer of the two, and deserved to be on the lead.
Dundee moved sweetly after the interval, Campbell being prominent. Anderson was unlucky with and effort, and Thomson tried a shot, but Dundee could not land the ball home.
Dundee certainly showed up better this half, and Campbell equalised with a hard shot from close in.
