AFC - Match Report
match report 1943-44 fixture list
North Eastern League
Raith Rovers 3 - 2 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Low 28, Glassey 63, Stewart 80       Ancell 38, Ferguson 50.
Attendance: 3,000
Venue: Stark's Park, Kirkcaldy
Exciting stuff this, with tempers ragged and fouls frequent. It was anybody's game right to the last, with Rovers, if anything, the more aggressive lot.

Aberdeen, though without Gavin in the second half, never lay down and fought back with a determination which shook Rovers.
Low played desperately, clearing again and again, with Donald a good second. In the forward line Stewart was a star, and was the prime mover in all Rovers' goals.
Glassey playd about his best yet. He had a picture goal with a grand header. Junior, in goal, was slick and confident in his first senior match.
Dons showed excellent touches. Mortensen and Pattillo had that extra zip in the forward line, while Cooper and Johnstone were grand defenders.
