Dons' Prospects in Danger
HAVE the Dons lost their chance of winning the North Eastern League championship? They suffered a severe blow to their aspirations at Kirkcaldy, where Raith Rovers defeated them by two clear goals.

Aberdeen and Rangers are now equal points, but the Ibrox team has payed a match less. Rangers have three matches still to play. They visit Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen, and have Dundee United at home. The Dons' two remaining fixtures are at Pittodrie. It is success away games, however which is the telling factor for the present competition, and for that reason the Dons' downfall against the Rovers may disastrous. It was a poor Aberdeen team at Stark's Park. Even allowing for Cooper, Green and Bremner being absent, the team on duty should have been capable of at least drawing. Rovers' objective was to prevent Aberdeen from settling down and in this they succeeded. Responsibility for the defeat must rest with the forwards, who were a moderate lot, and easily mastered by the home defence.
The middle division was overworked. Gavin was more like the Gavin of old while Dunlop and Taylor tried tremendously hard. Johnstone could not be blamed for the loss of the goals.
In Bruce, Dutch, and Donald, all Aberdeen boys, the Rovers had a strurdy rearguard. Bruce's fielding of the ball was very clean and confident.
The Aberdeen Juvenile at outside-left also had a good game.
