A crowd up of about 2500 attended the first Highland League fixture never played at Pittodrie - Aberdeen A the Inverness Caledonian - on Saturday. Although played during the afternoon never reached a high standard, really good football was a Times' provided. The visiting team showed up well in the opening stages, but the play of the Aberdeen team improved greatly after Maine secured the first point. Lack of experience in the class of football being played by the homsters told against Invernessians, who could not concentrate their plucky efforts towards the same end as the Pittodrie eleven. In the second half the game was entirely Aberdeen's, and no fewer than three goals were scored within 7 minutes. Of these two went to Main and the other two Hannah from a penalty. Later brown headed a fifth, and just on the whistle the northerners of tainted their only point through Docherty.
