Fleming Shield Final
The match at Pittodrie on Saturday between Aberdeen and Aberdeen University did not attract many people. The game, which was a Fleming Charity Shield tie, was very one sided. The students played with plenty of vigour, but with no method, and if they managed to keep down the scoring by robust defensive tactics, their own attack was too haphazard to have much result. Indeed, the only stage of the match at which the 'Varsity attack move shone was in the closing minutes after they had netted their first and only point. Scorgie and Walker scored in the first half for Aberdeen, and Main performed the hat-trick in the second period, all by characteristic bustling methods. The 'Varsity were best served by their goalkeeper, the backs, J. J. Simpson and Donaldson. Aberdeen tried Monro, Huntley player, at centre half.
